Veteran-Owned Business

American-Made Products

Welcome to our first every BigBear blog. This is a new adventure for us and we thank you for joining us on our journey. Please be patient as we are totally #newbloggers.

If you are just finding us and our business welcome. I would like to give you a little bit of background about us. I would like to think we will become friends over time and you’ll need to know who we are in order for that to happen. My name is Kati and I’ll be doing the majority of the writing until we get the hang of blogging. Ernie (my husband) and I are the owners of BigBear Woodworking and Plasma Art. We have been in business for 19 years, expanding the types of products we offer into metal art about 7 years ago. We both currently work outside the business 40+ hours a week at other jobs, with the hopes that will soon change. Our goal is to have Ernie working BigBear full time before the end of 2019. We have 5 children 4 daughters and 1 son. At some point along our journey I’m sure we will be talking about them. 1 of our daughters and our son started separate businesses in 2018. No doubt at some time in the future we will post links to their pages or feature something they have made! We are veteran owned, as Ernie served 23 years, and purchase our materials in the United States.

The main focus of our business is customized metal art. We like our art to not only look nice to the eye but to be functional. Take our Fire Pit Globes #firepitglobes like the one pictured here as an example. These are not just fire pits they are life lasting pieces of yard art! We spend as many hours as needed with our customers to design the exact globe they are looking for. They are made from 1/4 inch steel. They are hand drawn and hand cut. A fire pit globe takes approximately 100 hours from the time we start designing to the time it is complete and ready for delivery. No two are ever exactly the same. #firepits #yardart

We also make railings for stairways. Our railings can be made inside of framing for easy installation or left plain for you to add to a piece you are currently building. The imagination is our only limit on what we can do. #railingpanels #createyourownwithus

No pushing products that’s not why we started a blog! We have come across so many people in our travels over the last several years who do not understand what Plasma Art is. Over the next few blogs I will break down the equipment we use in our shop and how it works. I will include links to the companies of the pieces we are using incase I am unable to answer all the questions you might have.

Again we would like to thank you for joining us on our blogging journey.
Until next time.

Kati
